To Fix or not

Hi

My OVO 2 year deal is about to come to an end soon, so looking around for new deals.

My plan was to get another fixed deal, but they are coming n around £100 per month estimate, I pay around £95 on OVO now, so a similar amount, but I can see other suppliers like Green & Out Fox the Market which are variable and are quoting around £85 per month, so just wondering if people are mainly fixing ATM or not, I realise no one can predict prices going forward, so just asking what people are doing ATM?

Thanks.

We fixed for 12 months and will do the same again when this deal is up.
  • I fixed both last month. Only needs the slight little thing for prices to increase, and the end of October looming.

Fix with suppliers with no exit fees and lowest tariffs, eg Symbio Energy and Zog Energy. That is what I have done and I m quite happy. Can always jump ship if there is a lowering in rates before winter, which is unlikely

I've gone for a fixed for 12 months contract but with no exit fee.
  • Thanks for the advice, sounds like the fix with no exit fee is the way to go, I will look for the best tariff on that.

Just done a comparison on CEC and Avro & OTM are cheapest on a 12 month fix without an exit fee, but they have poor on no feedback, Symbio & Zog are not even on the list, did you use CEC to find them or another comparison site?

I've just been going through a switch and have found the CEC site to be pretty useless these days.

The Citizens Advice one or Energylinx (same data) seem a lot better.

I've ended up with a 1yr fix with Symbio.

Just remember to compare actual annual kWh useage, NOT the amount of the DD....

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

Yep, I put in my annual usage KWH (Gas & Electric) for 2018, so I get a fairly accurate use based on last year, predicted DD is slightly higher than it is with OVO.
