How much rent should I charge my partner?

OH and I live together in a house I bought before I met him - I earned about twice what he did, but he didn't have a mortgage. When he moved in before we married he paid half the bills and paid 2/3rds of holidays and trips and we mostly went places in his car. He paid for all our dates. He never paid 'rent' - we're married now and I don't earn as much so things are different. I would have a conversation with him about it as it sounds like it hasn't even got that far yet and maybe he will go along with whatever you think or maybe he'll have a strong opinion on what he wants to do so you'll need to reach a compromise.
