That's the problem, you can't get more than 256 at a reasonable price. I already use a portable hard drive. Currently on my laptop I have 500g hard drive with 250 usedLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I would fill 256GB in no time.
If you only browse the internet and send a few emails and dont store photos and dont play games then 256 would be OK.
If your sticking photos and games etc then you will want a bigger drive. Yes you can add an external drive but thats a chore when you need something quickly. If you leave the external drive connected maybe buy a desktop instead.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Depends on what you consider a reasonable price, decent 1TB SSD drives can go for less than £100, that sounds pretty reasonable to me.northwest1965 wrote: »That's the problem, you can't get more than 256 at a reasonable price. 500Gb SSDs are pretty cheap these days.0

Only a chore if you don't organise your storage properly. If you want to access stuff quickly and regularly then these are the sort of files that shouldn't be on external storage.forgotmyname wrote: »I would fill 256GB in no time.

I think getmore4less was referring to ...memory... which is another subject :-)getmore4less wrote: »SSD but make sure it has plenty of memory.0 -
SSD all the way. Much faster and more reliable, but yes, it is a bit more pricey.
Personally I copy all photos/videos onto separate SD cards so I am not using up my PC storage and have another copy on the cloud. You can get 128 Gb SD cards for about £30 nowadays.
Depending on the apps you are using 256 Gb should be pretty decent if you aren't putting videos/photos on it. I've got an old PC with only 128 Gb SSD, served me well for 5 years now.Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080
