But they do have to prove a fault exists and more importantly was present at the time of sale. Internet chatter isn't proof.

    Also, duplicate post - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6043706/refund-on-used-car-merged

I've never really understood this bit.. between 30 days and 6 months any fault is deemed to have existed at sale, but before 30 days it's not. Makes no sense to me. How would you prove something existed at the time?

I'm assuming that as the car has only done 4 hours worth of miles since buying it, that it would be reasonable to assume the fault was there, but again this isn't really proof.

It makes sense in the fact that it forces anyone who thinks they can just have a full refund shortly after purchasing, quite often as a result of buyers remorse, to actually prove that a fault exists and did exist from purchase. Seems reasonable to me.

Its worth getting another person to test drive this fault .
That rules out driver error .
JUDDER many reasons from user in wrong gear and onwards .

  • Thanks everyone for your responses.
    Still haven’t resolved issue.
Fault only happening on longer journeys and only way dealership will listen to us if we spend £200 on a independent check which only includes a 10 mile test drive.
    Help please
