    yes you can get up to 6 months. But if you have it on all the time with it triggering all the time it will be be a lot less

    I only switch mine on when I vacate the house

    Evidence suggests it does last a fair old time. Don't forget it wont be recording all the time just when the sensor has been tripped.

    As this is for 'door answering' when your in, would you be better off looking at a doorbell that can trigger a light?
