I need a WiFi camera to put outside my front door. I need this as I’m deaf. I’ve a Ring doorbell but the online account that saves the recordings is expensive when you have 2 devices or more - $100 per annum, which for me is a lot. Also it’s not good at picking up activity when it’s dark, despite numerous readjustment to its settings. It’s their 1st gen one so possibly I need to get an upgrade, but it still works for door bell pushes etc.
I tried the cheap Clever Dog camera but it was powered by a usb cable and unreliable - even when near the router it kept cutting out and needed to be physically reset, which for me was useless.
Any alternative suggestions?

Look at Amazon's Blink.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Blink XT or Netgear Arlo, both have free cloud storage. Arlo can be expensive.0

Of course, if it's wireless it means it uses batteries, so you then have to find out how long they will last, & how they are recharged.0

Thanks for the replies.
This Arlo camera is quite affordable for me and it’s at Curry’s

ARLO Smart Home Security Camera, Product code: 132680, £79.99
But can I use this on its own or do I have to buy some sort of hub or connection box in order for it to work?

Be aware this is the most basic Arlo and only 720p, if you can afford it I'd go for the Arlo Pro or the Blink XT2 system from Amazon.0 -
Thanks again for all the help.
Yes the Arlo Pro looks good but it’s very expensive. The basic Arlo system with the base station plus one camera is about half the price - I think I’ll have to go with this. The info claims the camera’s battery charge lasts up to 6 months which sounds a little unlikely.0 -

The Blink says the battery last longer, I'll let you know in a couple of years, & it costs less.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
