Shouldn't they rebrand themselves as "Gold Plated" as "Green" just doesn't cut it by those prices!:rotfl:

Think I should change to them and increase my leccy costs by £170 per year, lol

Good grief!!! I know everyone wants to lay claim to being "green" but those two names are shockingly similar. How one is supposed to tell one from the other I don't know!

  • But actually @ed110220 that "Oak" tariff looks unambiguously better than the Bulb one I have at the moment. Any thoughts on customer service? Are there any joining incentives or incentives to get others to join?

Stupid isn't it? I came across them on one of the comparison websites when I ticked the box to show suppliers I couldn't switch to through the site. As it didn't give a link it took me a while to find them, I actually had to go to an Ofgem list of energy suppliers as Google was no good!

Hi, there aren't any joining incentives that I know of. I have only just switched over but so far so good. They have a live chat thing on their website and answered my questions almost straight away out of office hours.

    (Potential) disadvantages are:

    * It's a variable tariff so I'll have to keep an eye out for it going up.
    * You pay up front each month for the energy you're expected to use rather than being billed for what you've used.
    * The smart meter that I have has become dumb and I have to submit readings.

Do they take your figures? So if you have PV and expect to import 3okWh for August...

You can either put in your annual consumption or chose the number of bedrooms you have for a crude estimate, and then it just divides up the cost by 12 to give a monthly direct debit figure.

How well they cope with actual consumption diverging from your estimate I don't know yet.

I cannot find an E.On tariff with a low standing charge. I see:
    Fix online v30 : 16.937 per day
    Fix 2 Year v4 : 20.223p per day
    E.On Energy Plan : 23.52p per day

E.On has 355 current tariffs in my area so i am unlikely to find the right one unless someone can give me a clue.
No such thing in my area, unfortunately. There are:
    E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v24 : 26.009p per day
    Fix Online v24 : 16.937p per day
The standing charge for E.On Fix Online Exclusive v7 is a massive 31.5p per day, one of the highest I have come across. At least that is what the MSE comparison site tells me. But this site knows where I live; perhaps the standing charge is different in other parts of the country.

Hello Reed_Richards and not sure where you're looking. We've never had 355 current tariffs on the go at the same time in any area.

At the moment, we've 15 tariffs available. Not all these are available to everyone as there are specific requirements for some like having a prepayment meter or being a new customer. Within each tariff there are other factors that give different prices such as paying by Direct Debit or having an Economy 7 meter.

It's best to check our website and the independent Price Comparison sites to see what we've available at any given time.

Daily Standing Charges and unit rates vary depending on the tariff and region. This reflects variations in the costs and benefits of individual products. For instance, it costs us less to manage accounts paid by Direct Debit and this is reflected in lower Standing Charges and unit rates for customers paying this way.

We're continually reviewing our products and of those you list Fix Online versions 24 and 30 are no longer on sale. Fix Online version 31 is the latest online tariff. Similarly, Fix Online version 7 has been replaced by version 8 today. Also, our Fixed 1 Year version 24 is no longer on sale.

I'm sorry we've nothing available at the moment that suits your needs Reed_Richards.
