I posted about costs on 24th January in some detail, which tells you how a Defendant's costs can be set out.
This can include a good few hours (maybe 20 or more?) at £19 per hr LiP rate, splitting it up into, say:
Reading documents x 2 letters & responding to the PCN initially = 2 hrs;
POPLA, including reading of evidence, submission of evidence, and receiving & reading the outcome (if tried) = 4 hrs;
reading letter before claim & researching whether to complete reply documents and how to respond = 2 hrs;
Subject Access request, researching and submitting = 1 hr
Subject Access request, reading all evidence and comparing to previous = 2 hrs
reading claim form & documents and researching what to do = 2 hours
preparing defence = 4 hrs
Directions questionnaire completion & submission = half hour
preparing witness statement and evidence = 4 hrs
etc etc
However you can only try for the above time at £19 per hr of you can show that the Claimant acted 'wholly unreasonably' which is VERY high bar to reach for.
Otherwise your 'standard costs' are pegged at a ceiling of £95 if you've missed a day's work for a hearing, plus travel and parking.
Search the forum for 24th Jan (yes I know, an odd search term but it's in a few of my posts about this) to find me discussing the costs rules.
You take your wageslip to court on the day if you hope to try for higher costs than 'standard' capped ones, but you need a really strong crib sheet re unreasonableness!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they discotninued then check the court has it
Did you get your costs of at least the set aside back?0 -
They emailed the court and copied me in as well, I assume this is ok. I will email the court to double check just in case. I have not submitted a cost schedule yet although I have prepared one. What do you mean the set aside costs? How much is this? And how do you I go about doing it? Any advice welcome0

Your title had "CCJ" in it, so I presumed you already had a judgement against you - was this not the case? If it wasnt, then you used the wrong title! THe "J" in CCJ means *judgement*. You dont get those BEFORE a case0
-
Yes sorry for the confusion it was early days and I was not sure on the correct terminology as had not been in this position before.

In matters such as this accuracy is a sine qua non.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
