Europcar charges without notice

Hi guys,
We hired a car in portugal from Europcar last week. On our route to our villa the tyre pressure light was on, we didn't notice until we were away from Lisbon airport. Anyway, about 2 miles from our villa on the dreadful portuguese roads we got two tyre blow outs. I called europcar and they were very helpful and sent out a tow truck and a taxi to bring us back to the airport to get a new car.
We got back to the airport and the lady there pretty much just handed me the keys for a new car, took away the old paperwork and gave me new. We went through the checks with the guy who gave us the car and no damage to this etc.
Drove off no problem for a week.
Took the car back after a week and he checked it over and gave us a big tick. I asked him what about the first car that had the blown tyres - he said there is nothing on the system about it and nothing against my name.
I got home, noticed they'd not taken the deposit from my credit card (i have annual excess insurance) and all fine. Then today I've noticed they've taken £230 off my credit card but I have NO NOTIFICATION they are doing this, therefore don't even have an invoice to pass on to my excess insurance... can they do this without telling me first? I specifically asked and was told there is no notice at all....
What are my rights please?
TIA

Your rights are to ask EuropCar for an invoice. No invoice, then initiate a Section 75 claim on the basis of them taking the money without providing a reason nor invoice.0

They may deny your claim due to negligence - you should have stopped and requested assistance when the light came on. This would have prevented the need for 2 new tyres.0
