Weird smell in bedroom

    It was just hunting around the room in question for the smell for several days, until eventually we put our noses up to the light fitting and Hey presto!!:beer:
    A new screw on collar fitted and the smell disapeared.
    Apparantly it's something to do with it being made of Bakerlite , which causes a reaction after heat and age take it's toll

    As previously mentioned we have vile aluminium windows and bad condensation. I cleaned the windows yesterday and the paint started coming off the windowsill - the wood is rotten, totally wet. Could the smell be coming from the rotten wood?
    How serious is this, we plan to replace the windows next summer.
