EDF and Smart Meters

Hi AndyPK,
For the "Simply Online" tariffs currently available (for e.g. Simply Online 1 year Fix Sep20v2), the T&C's state the following:
"if you do not have a smart meter you agree to have one fitted, or, if you decide you don’t want one installed, you can opt out by letting us know"
This mirrors the info in our Energy Club under the 'tariff info' section for this tariff.
I hope this helps reassure you on this.
But if you decline a smart meter they will move you onto their standard tariff. c.f. CEC Simply Online Feb 21 tariff info.
I have been on the EDF Simply Online tariffs for two years now, currently Simply Online May 21 and they have been unable to read my Scottish Power Smets1 smart meters but I stayed on the tariff. However they wrote to me on 26 January 2020 that they are now able to read the meters at this time monthly and then switched to daily in 10 days.0
