You know where you need to apply to, places like mcdonalds. The reason is quite simple Sam, and I'm sorry we're having this discussion again.
You have no work history, bar jobs will be limited and will go to people with a track record - because they are desirable.0 -
Not necessarily. As I said before, you could look for more casual work, with zero hours contacts. This could work in your favour, but remember that it also goes the other way too, and if the business doesn't have the hours to offer you, they don't have to give you any. Takeaway food places usually have hours and hours up for grabs so this wouldn't be an issue. Can't answer for all companioning its unfortunately.
Yeah, any job would be good, that's been my issue in the past making excuses and thinking I am above certain places which Im not0 -

I do volunteer quite a bit though so its not like i have no history, just no paid history0 -
I always worked until Christmas Eve, finished work, got picked up to go home with family and then returned back to uni the day after Boxing Day to fulfil my contract at work. That was my choice.
You need to find a job where the advertised hours fit around your studies or are flexible, also ensuring you can fulfil the contract during holiday periods of where you get the option of transferring to your home town if that is possible.
Employers are not obliged to grant annual leave or accommodate your needs.
I also used to be a student mentor and university student ambassador, which were schemes run by the university and when work was available I could say yes or no to. This earned me a fair bit of extra money too. See if your uni run these schemes?0 -
I signed up to be university student ambassador when I first signed up for the course and university but I am not 100% sure if its a paid role and can't find anything about it on the website now0

Which uni are you going to?0

Unfortunately not all universities do, maybe I was just lucky that my university paid.
Keep an eye out on their students' union jobs page as they will no doubt advertise too:
