trade price is usually a 30-40% discount on the full retail price0

Depending on where your property is located the price would vary.

Must admit it's a bit of a minefield finding a good decorator around here (Medway) that doesn't charge the earth.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

My mother in law owns her own decorating business and she said she would charge no more than £350 and it would be done within a day and she works alone!

My sister charges around £150 per room on average, paint extra.
She's based in Wales and the prices there are lower than elsewhere.
3 days is probably about right, assuming the ceiling, walls and glosswork are all getting done.0 -

If you were operating as a business you should be charging at least double that!
Assuming you work an 8 hour day, that's about £4.70 an hour by the time the tax is taken off!
You then have to take into account things like consumables (Brushes, tools, tape etc) and the wear and tear on your car.
You also have to allow for time taken to buy the paint, days when you don't have any jobs on etc..etc.
It's easy to justify £100+ per day, if everything is taken into account.0 -

Why not paint it yourself if you're wanting to save money?
I painted my entire flat in two weekends (1 bed flat, two coats of paint, nice finish on the wales). It's not easy work, but it's worth it - it will give you a sense of achievement.
That said, if you're willing to spend 200 on paint (which is all very similar really), then I'm surprised you're batting an eyelid at 410 pounds to get someone in to paint it!Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0
