Long term rent or test drive. Any tips?

I don't know of any dealer that will allow a test drive for a month, that's ridiculous. BMW do 48 hour test drives for some of their cars but not all and this length of time is more than enough to know whether the car is suitable or not.0

The dealer or a car hire service, and at a cost. I see things being advertised quite often about a weeks' test drive etc. Just looking for one of those.Woah, sorry... You aren't even looking at a brand new one? You're looking used?
And you expect a dealer to loan you a car for a month to decide if you want to buy a used car...?
And it's going to be May 2020 I plan on getting the car0 -
I kind of like the Op's thinking. He's making a sizeable purchase and wants to be reasonably certain with his choice.
I've been thinking the same when I next come to change motors, hire a make/model for a few days and have a good mixed trip e.g. long drive, some commuting and a supermarket trip.0 -
The OP has been starting posts about this since January and won't purchase for 2-3 years apparently.0

Having an extended test drive is a great idea, but borrowing 2 specific and very different cars for a month each is a bit much, especially if it's a used car (because potentially the new version won't be the same anyway).
You should be able to get a feel for the car in a couple of hours, 24 at most. Make sure the car seats and buggy's fit, fill it with shopping bags, take that old fridge to the dump, etc.0 -
So the answer is the ops expectation isn't realistic.0

Just searched locally and there are a few cars available, no 6 series or sportage where I live tho0 -
Oh, one of those peer-to-peer car rental schemes.0
