I'd certainly expect everything in an Apple laptop to last at least 3-4 years with normal use. They don't use cheap components. If it was Dell on the other hand I'd say 15 months is quite good!
Dell use a damn lot better componants than apple. In certain ranges.
Yes low end DELL is rubbish.
But even mid end DELL (or HP) is sooo much better than apple in the last 10 years.
Apple are riding on the name and selling increasingly poor stuff and will continue until they die unless they get someone good in charge. Which seems unlikely since the could not care less about the "pc" division.0
