You might think it "unethical", but it's fairly standard not to remove listings or flag them immediately - our house disappeared off RM a while after we moved in, and wasn't flagged as STC even. Like I said earlier, if you think there's shenanigans, get a mate to ring the EA and ask about it... I bet they haven't even twigged, let alone done it deliberately. Conspiracy, not c**k up.
As for the "pain" - that's not the EA's fault, is it? Their work is pretty much done when your offer gets accepted. From there, it's the vendor and solicitors.0 -

It was SSTC on rightmove until last week - agent then removed that one and added a fresh listing. I'll just ask them to remove it when I pick up the keys.0
