Book through Expedia? They usually have the same prices as Ryanair and will be in £s

Thanks for this, maybe this might be the "easiest" solution to know what im going to be paying before i book up

Have you yet tried going to the Ryanair website directly, without involving Skyscanner etc..?

I have just checked the price of a flight Marrakech to Madrid on my Ryanair smartphone app - it is clearly priced in MAD.

Ryanair website shows price in Dhs. Ryanair app shows price in MAD. Not very clear.

Yes, now I see that - but there's no difference in the price, it's the same figure.

So Ryanair are using Dhs (dirhams) on website and MAD on the app, but they both refer to Moroccan dirhams - there is nothing to indicate that they are mistakenly pricing in United Arab Emirates dirham (AED), as the OP imagined, misled by a Google search showing that Dhs is also used in the UAE for their own dirhams.

Anyway, perhaps they have already happily paid in pounds at Ryanair's crappy exchange rate...

I havent booked these flights yet

But when i entered Dhs into xe.com to gauge a "rough" cost it didn't find the currency so then i googled what it might be and it came up as AED dirham. Which is what confused me!

Still seems like the safest/easiest option is just to go through expedia?

But why? Sorry if my last post wasn't clear, but Ryanair are quoting their price in Moroccan dirham, there's no doubt about it. If you book Ryanair flights through a third party you are not sure of live pricing and you have no direct access to the booking in case of any issues.

Dhs is not a three letter currency code, in the same way as MAD, USD, GBP etc are such codes. It simply means dirham, referring to whatever country's dirham you're looking at, in this case Morocco. Other countries have dirham as their currency, including UAE. In the same way, for example, several countries use rupees or rupiah and they all put their prices as Rps or Rp.xxx. But their different currency codes are INR, NPR, IDR etc.

Anyway, do it how you like, but the price of the flights is likely to change at any moment...

Expedia links in with Ryanair, so you get emails from Ryanair, not Expedia regards the flight. I have always booked via Expedia and had Ryanair quote live and no variance.

You won't find Moroccan Dirhams on some exchange rate sites as it's a closed currency and you are not supposed to be able to change foreign currency unless you are in Morocco. Despite this, lots of places near the ferry in Algecirasand probably elsewhere will change money for you.

This site has a disclaimer about exact rates
    https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=1&From=GBP&To=MAD
but is quoting MAD11.70 for GBP1.

You can book knowing roughly what you will pay although this will vary according to changes in the exchange rate and your banks take on the card transaction. If you need these flights surely it is best to book them rather thanwaiting until you have a heap of Dh in your hand in Morocco when the flights will probably be much more expensive.
