Ryanair booking from another country price issue

Hi, I'm trying to book a flight from Marrakesh airport to Madrid (one way flight). For 4 people.

But it changes the currency in to a different currency on the ryanair website.

Sky scanner is showing the price as £38 but when i click through and go to the ryanaire website its showing the price in Dhs. (Total cost = 2,558 Dhs)

I don't know what this currency is?!

Local currency in Morocco/marakesh is the Moroccon dirham (MAD)
But the ryainair website is showing the currency as Dhs. When you google that currency its showing as United Arab Emirates Dirham

When you convert that 2558 Dhs to £ the total cost = £567!

I went on to live chat and they were useless. One guy said i would pay in $ and another had no clue.

So how do i know the total cost of my flight in £'s BEFORE i book them? I don't want to book these flights at £567 but im worried that once i click book, that's it and ill only find out the true cost once i check my bank account later!

Can anybody help/advise please...

Book through Expedia? They usually have the same prices as Ryanair and will be in £s

When you do it direct on the Ryanair site then the price is in mad. It seems to imply that sky scanner is sending the wrong info to the Ryanair site

Always book Ryanair directly through ryanair.com - a flight originating in Morocco will be priced in MAD.

When you come to pay with a UK card you will be shown a default 'guaranteed' exchange rate and price in pounds, which is very much in Ryanair's favour, not yours. You can at that stage decline the conversion by Ryanair, allowing it to be done instead by your card, which is hopefully one that's fee-free for non-sterling transactions.
    Evolution, not revolution
  • Flights are always priced in the local currency of the country they're departing from. In this instance they're using dhs for dirhams. You won't know the price in GBP until the booking is made. The conversion will depend on the exchange rate at the time.

Skyscanner don't send prices to Ryanair website.

I didn't say they did. It is something in the HTTP request that Skyscanner sends that appears to make it select DHS

I tried this orginally. I've now been on the ryanair website on two different computers, not via sky scanner and its still showing Dhs

Thank you, i didn't know this. So i WILL see the final price in GBP before i click book then?

This was the thing that was worrying me the most to be honest!

The part in BOLD is what worries me the most. Edicky above has said i WILL know the final price in GBP (or atleast "roughly" knwo the final price BEFORE I click book)

But you're suggesting i won't have a clue until after?

    Im confused now!
