I'd be glad to be proved wrong, but I've never seen any empirical evidence where inkjets cost less to run than a mono laser.
HP printers using the free Instant Ink plan and printing 15 pages (including full colour) or less per month will not cost a penny in ink. And it’s only £1 for every 10 additional pages.
Even £1.99 a month for 50 pages isn’t too bad a deal either.
A laser may be cheaper depending on the quantity of pages printed, but for someone who prints very occasionally like me, the free Instant Ink plan can’t be beat on price.1
