Help... heating broken

Just looking for some advice guys..

Have a central heating breakdown cover with Npower on Friday noticed that the boiler was misfiring so arranged for call out 1st appointment Tues... Engineer came and diagnosed a circuit board needs replacing.. will order..

Phone call this am, part arrived will come out on Tuesday :mad: to fit.. okay says I as its working okay ie heating and hot water..

Anyway mid morning boiler stops working no heating or water phones them up (not sure if prob related or not) wont come out until tuesday..

Is there anything I can do I have a 12mth old baby and a 2 year old in the house??? and its bloomin freezing

    Just wanted to say, you aren't alone! Our heating/hot water has packed up and I have a 5 week old and a 2 year old and its freezing here too! We rent so are trying to speed the landlord up in getting the work done. The gasman has been out today and yesterday but still more needs to be done to fix our ancient boiler system.

    Hugs to you, sounds like you need them to stay warm x

    Is it locked out ? Any fault codes? What boiler?

    Hi there,

    its a Baxi Solo PF30... the boiler light is on but it just aintfiring... it had a prob where it kept firing up.. running for a couple of minutes then refiring... the plumber came out and said it was a circuit board... now it wont fire at all...

    at least b4 we had heat now nothing.. any suggestions would be more than welcome...:D

    Sorry I think you will have to wait 'till Tues. How long did it take him to work out it was the PCB?
    I take it there is no red light (lock out)?

    Not that long... heard it keep firing and went to check pump... said pump ok.. and then said he would order a circuit board.. then 2 days later is stopped altogether.

    The only red light is the boiler on light... but its not firing at all.. seems like the pilot light isnt on... IYSWIM

    Have bought a couple of oil fired heating things for the kids rooms.. really narked as they have the part just no-one to fit it...

    Do you mean the light above the lock out is lit?
    If so, turn off the boiler switch for 10 sec. and then on again.

    Do you mean the overheat light?

    The only light showing as lit is the one for boiler on.... I know normally when it fires the boiler lit light comes on then another couple ...

    Have tried resetting still nothing ..
