Hi mate,
not sure if got the gist of your post, can you elaborate little more, I don’t think I intentionally ignored you or anyone here :rolleyes:0 -
Well you state your issue and ppl make a comment then you up-date what you want us to hear. You ask advice then when we ask question you again just tell us what you want us to know. I am not saying we want private or anything, I asked what lender etc and what actually went on as I cant comment with out more info!0

I won't bother posting on this board again, since some people on here are more interested in taking the pi** than offering advice:mad:

I re-mortgaged my property recently and I'm looking for compensation, as it took 4 months for the new mortgage to complete:mad: despite being promised the mortgage would complete on time. The bank in question has given me a refund for all the phone calls (I made loads!) while chasing this up and for the difference in mortgage payments which I made to my previous lender and what I would've paid if the mortgage had completed on time. However, they have not given me compo for the stress I went through during this time or for the time I spent (endless hours!) trying to get the bank to push this forward and basically do their job properly! It's very frustrating when you are dealing with so many incompetent people:mad:
Today, I spoke to someone at the bank (in the claims department) and she said I had to give them a figure regarding the claim. Apparently, she is not allowed to suggest a sum. I have no idea how much I should ask for. On the one hand I don't want to appear too gready, but on the other hand I don't want to be short changed. Any suggestions would be very appreciated:D
I thanked your post cause it made me laugh..get a life. There are so many people in the UK tonight facing a bleak christmas because of the floods we had over summer, you want to be greatful you will have a proper roof over your head and not living in a caravan for 6 - 12 months."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. I think £10-£200 is a fair result depending on what actual stress was caused. Had it been a house move, then more towards the £200. As it was just a remortgage and nothing is at stake of being lost, then more towards the £10.
Whilst it may have been a pain, I highly doubt any real stress was caused because you stood to lose nothing from these errors. Therefore stress is not applicable. Hassle is the issue here.
Anything they decide to pay is just a goodwill gesture as they have already agreed to pay out of pocket expenses. If you take it to the FOS, then after about 3-4 months of reviewing your case, they will agree that your out of pocket expenses would be paid and a small goodwill gesture. £100 seems popular at the moment if you read their publications.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Right i see where you coming from. You might have noticed that this thread is kind of two-in-one so i did not realise that your question(s) were directed at me, in fact your post/question(s) were just below voyger2002 so i assumed that you were directing the questions to sally06, like voyger2002 was. I guess to avoid this sort of confusion ppl here usually use 'quote' function.
Why i thought that your question were not directed at me? Just read my facts below & you would know exactly why.Dan_Collins wrote: »I would like to know why it went wrong and who the lender is. Was it really stress, you are not out of pocket I dont see why you need more compensation but if the lender is offering it then thats not your problem. I would sit and think about it though as it they will look at howmuch it will cost them to fight it and if they will win.
I do agree about the stress thing but you have to make the best of what you can in life, banks and building societies own us so if you can get a little out of them then go for it!
Fact 1
I did not mention word 'stress' in my posts, sally06 did
Fact 2
I did not mention about 'more compensation' sally06 did as he was offered compensation, in fact if you read my posts carefully you will find that I have not been offered any compensation yet.
Fact 3
'cost fight' - well as i have not been given initial decision yet so how on earth i can talk about fighting the case? Sally06 might consider that but for me I must get a decision before I can talk about fighting the case/decision!
I hope in the light of the above you might consider changing your initial judgment!0 -
