Thanks tlc678910. I've tried all of those including every other grant I've seen advertised. Eon and British gas have been out and done assessments. It doesn't matter how much I pay out, I earn too much and my credit score is rubbish so nobody will give me finance. The cab looked for me as well.

I've read everything from women's aid and I regularly rang the police. It took 3 years and an official complaint to have anybody take me seriously. The police are notoriously bad for doing anything about domestic violence and stalking, hence all the recent law changes. Partly down to budgets and partly down to patriarchy. They apologised like.

Even my domestic violence advocate said I was stuck. Women who manage to continue a successful career are expected to be able to help themselves. I'll sort something. A good sleep is my priority at the moment
    Thanks again

Wirbs~~Don't shoot me down when I ask if you have spoken to your GP about the not sleeping well. They might be able to give you something to help in the short term which could help you regulate your sleeping pattern.
    Just a thought.

I wanted to go the gp this week actually but I haven’t been able to get an appointment. I slept in the boys room last night and had a lovely sleep because you can’t hear next door from there unless they’re having a really mad one.
I do want to go tho. I think everything seems worse when you’re tired.

I've just skimmed your diary wirbs. I will read it properly later. Your house sounds a bit like mine except I now have heating. I had no heating except for an ancient gas fire when I moved in and single glazing. My windows are too falling apart. One day it will be sorted.

I think youve had some fab advice regarding the debt and it's just deciding what's right for you. Keep coming on here, you will get there in the end.

Regarding the neighbours have you complained to the council. I've had a problem with my neighbour for a long time and their barking dog. It was regularly left alone for hours, often until 3am. You have my sympathies, it's a nightmare when sleep is constantly interrupted. I left it too long before contacting the council but when I did things got better fairly quickly. It's not perfect but better. I would also contact the housing association and complain. I apologize if you've already done this, as I say I've just skimmed so far.

I hope everything works out for you. This is the best place for support.

Thanks Parsniphead. The last complaint seems to have made things worse and they have family on every corner so even if I got them out that would t be the end of it. I’m thinking my best bet is try to get out. I won’t be able to go bankrupt while there’s no equity because they won’t take the house.

I’ve had the union man in today and he’s going to put me forward for support. A grant for the heating or an interest free loan so I’m feeling a bit more hopeful. He was lovely.

Broken sleep is absolutely horrendous isn’t it. I hope your situation improves and thanks for taking the time to reply. I do really appreciate the advice off everyone. It makes you feel not so alone

I don't think your living condition is conducive to being able to be firing on all cylinders. Just then lack of sleep alone makes me awful.

My opinion on your situation is I don't know why you keep paying your debtors. There are many people on this forum that pay each debtor £1 a month then as the debtors get desperate to recover more they accept offers on the total amount of debt. It takes years but no where near as long as your dmp end date. I think opt to self manage your debts/dmp. Stay in the house and invest in soundproofing along the party wall (there are cheaper ways), windows (its amazing how much difference decent windows make to blocking sound) and heating system. I don't think your negative equity is just bad. Is it interest only or repayment mortgage? You need to rework your soa to show how much things really cost and submit that to creditors to show you can only afford £1 a month. Maybe you've started smoking? Have a read of the self managed thread and so you feel confident to do it. Also have you sent CCA requests to your lenders?

    Keep going xxxx
    Loan 1 £5200/£8000
    Loan 2 £300/£5800
    Total £5500/£13800

I would definitely recommend going self managed with your DMP - it gives you much more flexibility. I changed from Step Change to self managed a few months ago and it was relatively straightforward. I used the NEDCAB website. Last month I was really struggling (My income is variable as one of my jobs is a zero hours contract) so I dropped to token £1 payments to each creditor and they were all ok with that.
