First thing I would do is phone the credit card company and put the amount from Dixons in dispute and clear rest of the balance of (or whatever you normally do). Inform them that dixons should be refunding the monies. As long as the amount is in (genuine) dispute you will not have to pay interest on it.
ivanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Thanks for all your advice and support, Ivanopinion, thats a great piece of advice, I never knew about that, we have cleared the rest of the balance, if we ever use the credit card I always do, I dont think Ive ever paid interest! The only outstanding is the £250 that Dixons owe, so saying that is in dispute will avoid interest....fantastic.
Once again Ive got some great advice from fellow MSErs!
What a wonderful place!!
Happy new year!0 -
Another quick update, the credit card company were confused about what info they required to process the dispute, they said they would send a form, but sent a letter saying they needed more information, but not what info they needed, now they say there is no form!
Then today we had a letter from Dixons, with a till reciept attached, confirming they had done the refund.
Called credit card to confirm it had been recieved, they said it had, asked to confirm current balance, but was £125 less than expected.....Dixons have only refunded for one TV!!!! (we bought two, exactly the same model)
We asked credit card company to continue the dispute, they say the first one has to be cancelled as that was for £250, and we have to begin all over again with a new dispute for £125......it feels like dixons and the CC company are taking the pizz now !!!!!!!!!!!0 -
so does the till recipt that you have received from dixons show for the 2 refunds or only the one ?
if it shows 2 then get back onto the company and say that you want it doone immediately within 3 days or you issue court proceeindgs as their conduct over the matter is a farce0 -
I guess we just assumed the refund would be what they owed us. On closer inspection the till reciept does only say one, but there were two reciepts so assumed they had done them separatly we didnt really look at it closely before calling the CC company, infact the two reciepts are different, (like when you go shopping and get an itemised bill, and then another one thats just the card reciept for the total)
I'm hoping they will hurry up with this now the CC company is on the case, the fact that Im not going to get charged interest is a relief, just wouldnt mind the interest they have got from banking my money for over a month!!!!
Life is too short to be messing around with such incompetent companies dont you think?0 -
Another update.
OMG, credit card company are as bad as dixons...husband called CC company today to see progress of dispute mentioned in previous post....they have not done anything, apart from send an internal email thats not been actioned!!!!
He also called Dixons, (he was on a roll!!) they say they have only refunded for one TV as their records show thats how many we returned!!!!!
What we did was send ONE box (the one they were delivered in), which contained TWO TVs. He said he wanted to speak to a supervisor and the person said she would see to the refund within.......you guessed it.....3-5 days!!!!
If they had really only recieved one TV they would not have agreed to the second refund so easily....little liars!0
