Queen Bee fighting for her Hive!

Hello Saturday - Its been a tough few days in the Hive. Received some ridiculously sad news on Thursday evening, a good friend hasn't got long left and now just waiting to hear from her family now. Yesterday just didn't know what to do with myself but today I need to "pick myself up and dust myself off" and so to update today's diary.
The survey sites are pretty slow going at the moment, I aim to have £20 from surveying each month but it is getting difficult to reach this atm. I was hoping Prolific was going to be a bit busier but its very thin on the ground. Only have £1.35 in that pot. I'm registered on a few sites where there is a long way to go to get minimum. Will keeping chipping away at this. I need to check Quidco - think I have £20 ish sitting in cashback to redeem. This will help to keep the survey pot topped up.
Today been quite lazy, not done much. We were initially planning to go out to a visitor attraction but after seeing how much it was going to cost we changed our minds and just enjoyed being at home. The kids played most of the day outside.

I tried surveys a few years back. I loathed every minute of them, and made £5 in six weeks. Just wasn't worth my time. Other people seem to do much better!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Haven't updated for a couple of days.
Received the news I was dreading, one of my eldest friends passed away this morning. She'd had been ill for a long time but is still a shock. Been listening to sad songs tonight, probably not the most wise thing to do but I just was in that kind of mood.
Finances wise - Monday was pay day, its all allocated to various bills and outgoings. Getting fed up with paying down the debt. Strongly considering paying off the remaining balance on the credit card in December so that I am starting next year afresh. Luckily I do have the money in the bank to be able to do so, so we will see how the Christmas spending goes.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello Saturday!
Its rest day from first week of FT work that was very busy! Made it through
Had a few NSD's but today we need to do food shop so some spending today. We are catching up with my grandbaby & his parents today for lunch.
This morning spent a bit of cash on mixed case of Prosecco after OH went to the corner shop and declare that was the last time he was buying bubbles from there - he felt robbed at £10So just spent £6 per bottle on the mixed case of white and rose Prosecco. This will be perfect for Christmas and onwards
About to start Saturday morning surveys and look at the finances. Stock market is dire at the moment so a bit of wound licking going on but i'm sure it will pick up at some point.
Last night was looking at property online and found a lovely garden flat locally. If only I had an extra 50k towards deposit, alas not the case so keep plodding onwards.2025 financial goals & challenges!

To be fair i'm loath them too but the ease of gaining a bit extra cash for monthly spends is a mini motivator. Defo doing a lot less than I used to do in the summer as I just don't have the time. Its turned into a sat morning activity in pjs while the kids are relaxing. My goal is £20 per month and so far since starting earlier in the summer this has been met.

See for £20 a month I would do them. I just use my credit card for the cashback instead now. Average is around £8, with a £3 fee, but if I buy anything big it is £20. Bedroom furniture put on it then paid in full, same with new car deposit......Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

You know those days where you just feel over indulgence - I'm in it.
So for the past week I have been a bit more free and enjoying the good things in life and today I just woke and feel I need to get back into good habits as generally I am more happier when I am being good. So today I am back on it. So in that vein I the house needs cleaning - just finished the bathrooms next is living room / kitchen / hall way / office needing a good dust, vac and mop. So that will keep me going today. Would like to get a walk in the park in and its driving lesson day. No word its been cancelled because of fuel shortages.
Yesterday spent just shy of £60 on food shop at Lidl. Bought some diced beef, made a lovely big beef casserole in the slow cooker last night. This morning roasted some butternut squash and made giant yorkshire's. Thats dinner for tonight and beginning of the week sorted. Will portion and freeze some of it for OH for meals for work too.
Happy dayz, not expecting to spend anything else today. Tomorrow need to sort out travel tickets for funeral after speaking to work to make sure I can get the day off.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello overwhelming Thursday,
Not sure if it is just me but I am finding the news hard to stomach atm. Just when I start working extra hours and think might just get a bit up, the news of energy prices going through the roof, council tax rises, food price rises and student loan payment increases I just think there is no chance of getting out of debt.
