Queen Bee fighting for her Hive!

Hello Sunday morning, was awake early and quickly followed by littlest bee who has a cold. He was coughing. My partner is a light sleeper and was then woken by all the noise so now its just the eldest of the kids that's sleeping.
Today is very much a day at home doing the routine jobs and a bit of work in the garden. Now that the pumpkins are de-leaved and just ripening I can now get to re-position the raised beds. So earlier this year I bought two of these lovely metal raised beds and grew some veg in the summer. The most recent was pumpkins and they just went berserk. Anyway now I can finally access the area I need to move one of the beds to give a walkable gap between them. I learned the hard way that I couldn't access the back of the bed. Anyway as they say never stop learning in a garden. So today I will re-position and then add the onion seedlings bought yesterday. Hopefully they get established before it gets too cold. I need to research what other things can go in the ground for early spring. The plan for today is a no spend day. The fridge and cupboards are reasonably stocked so we can wait until needing to go food shopping on Thursday. I'll give the eldest cheese sandwiches for school tomorrow so he will be ok.
Tomorrow is monthly accounts day. More of the debt has been chiselled away but summer spending has eaten into savings quite a bit and I know I will have yet another minus figure on the 'saving 12k in 2021'. Really not happy with this but I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel. Still waiting to hear if I am getting extra hours at work. Really could do with this or will need to come up with a plan to boost my income going forward.2025 financial goals & challenges!

We actually achieved quite a bit in the garden today. Top priority was to move the raised bed, creating the much needed gap, plant the onion bulbs and mint plant from yesterday. This was done, and then weeds were removed from around the shed, water butt area and around the raspberry bush. Composter now full. Also cut back the lavender and between myself and OH we also did some more digging of the dodgy grass. This took most of the morning.
Didn't quite end up being a no spend day - ordered some cleaning products for the bathroom which we hadn't realised had run out. It was only £3.50 so nothing major. Plus the bathroom had a good clean.
We have a glut of milk in the fridge and strawberries that had seen better days so surprised the kids with American style pancakes for tea and they were in heaven
The kids didn't get homework to do this week - so instead I had the kids doing some reading and a bit of online maths game the oldest has a log in for. Am hoping for homework next week.
Back to work tomorrow, hoping for a slightly better week than the past two working weeks which have been manic.

Last week I really hit the skids, found my head was all over the place and generally not great. So this week I am determined to work on shifting last weeks mindset to something a bit more upbeat. So this morning I got up at 6am and did both yoga stretches and 30 mins on the exercise bike. I've also showered and put on something I haven't worn for a long time and sprayed a bit of perfume. So all good so far.
I've got a social tonight, catching up with friends I haven't seen since early summer so that will be nice. Have a good day everyone

You haven't had much luck with trains recently!
I also like getting dressed up a little bit. Three days a week I am in old clothes for my job, so the other two days I like to try and wear something a little more reasonable.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I'm home from a lovely evening attempting to crochet - love crafting but this not one craft for me. Can't do it for toffee!
Finally had confirmation from work, my request for extending my hours at work has been approved and yay will be working full time, starting in two weeks. Really hope this is another step in the right direction toward being able to get a mortgage. Fingers crossed.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Very quick diary update - second morning of yoga stretches and part way on bike, feeling good. Need to finish bike exercise later. As I was our last night I didn't get the chance to do monthly accounts. So quickly checked these this morning and will post a run down later. Loving the sounds of the rain, very atmospheric!
Feeling much happier knowing will have extra pay for next 12 months, the boost I needed!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Absolutely shocking luck with trains, most of it was our own doing so we need to allow more time. Anyway onwards and upwards.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello Wednesday, Work has been incredibly busy I haven't yet had a chance to do much else. After spending most of the day on the computer I really need a break from the screen so will do monthly update when I can. Spreadsheets have already been complete which is a job in itself.
I did manage to quickly log on to the crowd funding platform where I have starter funds sitting ready to go. First company loan picked and went in. So lets see how this goes. £100 starter - how far can I go on this?
Right off for morning exercise, getting ready for work and another daily slog.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Its been a very busy week in the hive. Work has dominated my time and i'll probably end up logging on later and doing some more. Got some tight deadlines for next week.
Other news - my kids have had a golden week. My eldest has surprised us by getting taking part and getting a place in the school football team for his year and my youngest has moved up his swimming class to the next level.
Money wise Monday was monthly account review and I have paid off another 2% of debt so now sitting at 67% debt free. I've also heard from work, I am going full time in two weeks time! Roll on to October pay cheque! Not really spent any money this week except a very worthy investment in beers box. Paid for out of the joint account. I'm now on the hunt for a case of wine / bubbles. We don't drink a lot but its nice to have a bit of choice.

Sunday Morning and I am having a spurt on. So in the cycling challenge I have completed 10 out of 17km of the daily target while watching an old home renovation program. The family in question were renovating a barn - something I'd love to do. A perfect bit of motivation. I've also been doing some more digging in the garden, the ground is lovely and soft. More stones added to the growing pile and more of the crappy grass removed. Tomorrow we have a gardener coming around to quote to re-turf the garden so we will see what that brings. Most likely we'll be doing the work ourselves but we will see.
This week we start viewing secondary schools - this will be interesting and not quite sure what to expect.
