Putting all the fun of buying the house aside, this week was monthly accounts review. I have changed how I work out what I have saved and where I am with my debts. This is because I am back to earning money again (new job) and can be more accurate in my accounts. So with that in mind my monthly savings has a negative figure of -£2671.58 and as I had some costs related to the property on my credit card I only managed to pay of 1% of my debt. The famous chart has been attached. With my debts I have done what is hopefully my last balance transfer.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello Saturday,
Just had an argument with the other half. He's a lazy squib and would easily spend all day playing his computer rather than getting anything useful done and I am just exhausted from stress of home schooling etc so i'm officially 'a nag!!' Honestly the cheek of it!
Sorry... needed to vent!
Heading to park shortly to take the kids out for a ride on their bikes and the home to make lunch. Need to do some food shopping for the essentials. Today we are going to try to look at some school work and hopefully tick of one or two late pieces. School is sending so much work through its just a joke and makes me feel crap about it. Today is just one of those days.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hi everyone,
Just realised I haven't posted since the argument post. We do argue like every couple, OH was just annoying me.. we are all good now
So this week I started my new job! Which is massive news in our house.
Yay!
Week 1 was a nice ease into the new company, met some lovely people and meeting more of them this coming week when the real work starts. Its also payday week... nice!
In other MSE news, with an upturn in fortunes I've upped my private pension by a £20 a month and sorting out the utility bills for the investment property.
The kids are with dad this weekend and OH is working so a bit of peace and quiet to myself. Bathrooms cleaned and food shopping done. I'm going to catch up on zoom with a couple of friends and have some work docs to read and that will be about it this weekend.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello Sunday,
Yesterday was a nice chilled day, got the food shopping & bathroom cleaning tasks done and had a zoom date with one of my besties. We chatted for nearly two hours, it was wonderful.
After the call had a bit of fun window shopping for houses to live in, if only! Feeling optimistic about it again as back in work, there is light at the end of the tunnel with paying my debts off and I might qualify for a small mortgage in the near future. What we need, what we can buy and location is a different matter but anyhow.
Today I need to spend some time on some work preparation for this week as well as start tackling the kids bedroom. We bought some new storage for their room and its currently a tip. Kids not back with me until Weds morning but I want it finished by then and I need to assign some more cash to the 1p savings challenge pot.
Have a nice day everyone2025 financial goals & challenges!

Thanks @enthusiasticsaver, lots going on like you say, sometimes too much. I've had my fair share of things not going my way in the last few years so I am chuffed its finally happening after some false starts.

How has it got to Friday? My week has flown by!
This week its been busy with week 2 of new job (eeek lots of new information my brain hurts!), home schooling and trying to fit everything in.
Looks like my investment property is nearly ready for carpets so I'm getting these ordered atm and I now have the quote for the handyman work. This property is never ending with expenses at the moment, feel that mini panic but all costs I did know about. I am reached the end of the line with this too and we should be ready for tenants in the next few weeks. Oh what an adventure.
This week the landlord sent around a surveyor on the property we live and rent. This was unexpected and really praying that this is not the first hint that our landlord is selling the property. Its a lovely place where we live and his family have owned it a long time. He is one of those lovely landlords too so really hope this is him just updating his records
Apart from that nothing much is happening, I need to get to the supermarket for some essentials so working on my shopping list this morning whilst home schooling. Hope everyone has a nice day.
