Oh my goodness, my anxiety is back with a vengeance this week. Really struggling against myself and it makes me narcoleptic and have raging headaches because i'm tired. I know work is a trigger for it and I need to learn how to control it but its just awful. And starting a new job in a pandemic virtually is quite a challenge. If anyone has any tips they will be gratefully appreciated.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Ah @Queen_of_the_Hive bless you. You have so much going on! It’s no wonder you’re feeling stressed! I find the only way to cope is to take one day at a time rather then thinking too far into the future. Chin up love x2

Hello, back for a quick update!
Feeling a lot calmer than I was this morning - anxiety has subsided a bit and now just feel really tired. Haven't slept properly since Friday night. In spite of my lack of energy I was going to buy a takeaway for dinner but my tight northerner head stopped me and so made food from the freezer with salad.

I’m glad you’re feeling a little better. I was like that with the take away at the weekend. Absolutely desperately wanted an Indian takeaway as hadn’t had one for years but then realised it was going to cost close to £50 with rice costing £4 a go! I decided to have a Chinese for £11 instead!2

Hi @Sarahwithlove yes this is a good money saving idea. I think I was just really tired the other day and needed a bit of a treat. Glad I didn't buy and the pizza was nice.

Today was an odd school day, no formal lessons and instead it was screen free day to embrace child mental health week. Luckily it came at the best day in the week as both me and my partner do not work Thursdays. So we took the kids out on their bikes in the morning to a park which is further from home. This was to encourage the little one to cycle further. He only ditched the stabilisers last month. I was really impressed, he did really well. The older kid enjoyed it too. In the afternoon they played lego and in between rain showers we finally took the Christmas decorations to our storage unit - a job which we've been meaning to do for ages
Spending wise - had to get some essentials from the shop which came to £13 plus change. Have not been food shopping this week yet. Fruit and veg box gets delivered overnight. I have opened two regular saver accounts, one was a renewal of one which I have had for years and a second one was a new one. I'm a fan of regular savers and each year try to open one extra to build up my savings into as I have a pot of money which essentially gets recycled and added to, to slowly grow the house deposit fund. I also have completed but not yet sent back application form for work's pension with my new company. Have to admit I was disappointed to hear the contributions from the company into the pension is rubbish - literally just the legal minimum. To be honest I'll still take it though. Every penny counts.

Hello Friday, I must admit I really needed today. The sun was shining and it felt very spring like. First day of the year we ventured into the garden and hung out the kids bedding on the line to dry. Sadly it was a bit too cold to dry but it was nice to welcome in some spring air!! Hopefully the lovely weather will be back very soon. It really got me thinking about the garden and summer. I have many items on my garden wish list. Who'd love an inflatable spa.
I was so inspired by the lovely weather that I got my propagator and herb seeds out and now have thyme and rosemary seeds hopefully going to grow into seedlings. Tried to grow herbs last year and wasn't very successful so hopefully it works this year.
Today was a no spend day. I was doing some home schooling and weekly cleaning jobs. Tomorrow I need to do some food shopping.

Welcome Friday!
Its a week since last diary update. Work this week was a bit better paced this week and I started to get used to some of the systems I need to in my job- which is a definite positive as the week before I was a bit overwhelmed.
Home schooling continues to be a challenge - the kids are getting fed up now of it all and who can blame them to be honest. So glad next week is half term and a chance to play. Although with the older one we have a project to write a story. This he has been doing this week but is really behind so I spoke to his teacher and said it will take us longer. English is not his subject.
Tomorrow is monthly debt and savings review but to be honest I have already done it today because I remembered to do it and one day will in all honesty not make a difference. I am pleased to report I have paid off another 3% of my debt bringing my debt total to £6425.26 or paid off 39% of my debt. This is nicely reducing. My spending however is out of control. Its all focused on buying the investment property and spending on carpets etc to get the property ready for market. My savings are taking a battering at the moment.
On the positive I have been in contact with the letting agents to get the ball rolling with them - which is really exciting and I will get my first proper pay cheque at the end of the month. So my pummelled savings should start to grow again in the next couple of months. Oh, how I do look for the day of this.
