Under Floor Heating

Does anyone have any experience in the following.
I'm going to be fitting electric under floor heating which will consist of
- Thermal heat (insulation) mats
- Under floor heating
- Screed the floor with self levelling compound to the top of the heat mat
Then
I may tile over the screed or put vinyl mats down which I only really heard of this week.
My big question is, if I go with the vinyl, which is not as thick as the tiles do I need to make the screed thicker to ensure its stronger?
As the screed and tile would be very strong
Does it need to be screed and screed and vinyl
Thanx

If your want underfloor heating then go with tiles. Tiles are better conductor of heat so will warm up the room alot quicker. Vinyl doesn't conduct so you might aswell not have it. The vinyl is thinner and will need thicker screed0

Look at the websites of underfloor heating suppliers (such as Ambient Heating) and ring them for advice.
Before installing electric underfloor heating it is important to have some insulation under it. Tile backer boards such as Marmox which come in thicknesses from 6mm upwards. These are stuck down with tile adhesive.
If you want to use LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles) then you must bury the heating mat in latex levelling compound and be sure to use heat proof adhesive.
If you want tiles then you can do the same but it is not necessary. After taping the heating mat down (some are sticky). you can just lay the tiles on top using tile adhesive.0
