Virgin media wifi - failure to connect to devices

I have been able to connect my iphone, ipad and printer by Wifi up until now with no problems. Two days ago I couldn't so rang Virgin Media. I had to pay £60 for them to help reconnect me but I've lost connection again. I have to wait for my husband to come home before I can ring again as the account is in his name so am wondering in the meantime what it might be.
Apologies if this is a dumb question but I'm not very technology minded. A neighbour has just taken out a new Virgin contract for an extended to 5 whatsit service and I'm wondering if the signal strength for our network could have been affected?
