Pladski-chim-yam-charna!! I have no idea if that is correct but thats how I remember it being said!

Basically, polish potato pancakes! Really, Really, Really yummy!!

Grate a few potatoes into a bowl. Use the zester side of the grater. It takes for ever but worth it.
Grate with the zester again half an onion.
Add a tea spoon of oil.
Add a pinch of salt and peper.
    Add one egg and mix.
Add about a table spoon of flour and stir. The consitency should be like a good sloppy lumpy wallpaper paste mix!!

Fry small dollops of the mixture until brown on both sides.

Serve with anything! In poland they have jam, but we used to eat with scrambled eggs or sausages!

They are kinda like hash browns, but small and flat and sooooooo goood!

Oooh, nice. I was going to do hash browns for boxing day breakfast but would much rather do something homemade.

Don't actually know, as i've never made them. Christmas day we don't do breakfast - mostly because i'm running around like a headless chicken and the turkey has been in the oven since god-awful-o'clock and i'm not making things any more complicated than they already are.. !! hmm. the only thing i can think of is that fresh vs dried might affect the amount of liquid needed, especially if they do what blueberries do in muffins and kind of burst. Be interested to see the answer myself. Might make them on New Year's eve or something. or any other day when i'm not doing my headless chicken impersonation.

Only sad if you don't enjoy it surely the whole point of it is to eat what you like and treat yourself. Or are you really posh and have bucks fizz everyday.
