Like I said the tax was paid but I filed returns through my personal tax I didn’t use an accountant

Surely you can “challenge” it as you still had correct intentions to pay it and therefore just adjusting.

What caused them to investigate you?

I know mate knew I made a mistake but they whacked 20k on what I owed. Thinking I’ll pay the lump sum and they’ll still make me bankrupt. Countries fcuked mate. Might draw it out and get a one way ticket somewhere ha

I made a few adjustments mate to the return was in a bit of bother with personal circumstances

I agree... with the way country is including the BJ & the government wasting money on Brexit/ HS2 they need to whack the little guys to fill the hole.
