Best place to research appliances before purchase? (Which?, Consumer reports etc)

Hi All

I need to buy a dishwasher and needed some pointers on research, I dont mind paying for a site for a month or so if I can trust they've tested appliances thoroughly and their reviews and recommendations are accurate.

My initial thoughts were Which? however their trustpilot ratings are pretty bad, the only other site i'm aware of is consumer reports, I realise its more US centric but I'm guessing dishwasher models should not vary too much so it may do the job.

Any ideas? will be spending quite a bit of money so want to make sure I get the best performing model I can along with it being reliable, I've heard good things about Bosch so am leaning towards them manafacturer wise..

The Trustpilot's ratings mainly reflect how difficult it is to cancel the subscription. Try your local library for back copies. Many categories are only tested every few years and not necessarily updated, so you could pay a sub just to access an out-of-date report.

I usually check out the individual reviews appliances get on retail sites (John Lewis, AO, Curry's etc) as they are from people who have actually used the product.

Also appliancereviewer.co.uk - but not sure how independent they are.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

I usually use google to find reviews etc.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

You should be able to find copies of Which in your local library.

Best to always read Which? reports in full rather than just trust their recommendations at face value, IMO. They often score on aspects of a product that are not really relevant or important to many people.

I have always taken Which? as a reliable source but still google other review sites to see if the Which? recommendations collaborate.

That can't be stressed enough, they come up with some strange conclusions some times.

My local library (also) has access to Which online. The magazine often refers to the web site for full details.

Which? Advice Guide: How We Test Dishwashers

Which? have fifty two Best Buy dishwashers listed on their website, of which twenty are Miele, fifteen Bosch, four Beko, four Siemens, three Belling.

Of their ten Don't Buy dishwashers, five are Smeg, one Bosch, one Beko. There are 230 dishwasher reviews in total.

Happy to run a search via my subscription if you provide more information.

I have been happy with my Which? Best Buy purchases to date, as have my parents who have subscribed on and off for many years. I also checked the consumer reviews on Amazon for each product I bought BTW.
