Nationwide Flexplus warning - major downgrading of benefits

Just found out by accident that Nationwide are reducing the benefits on the Flex plus account again. (first we lost the Identity Theft coverage and the Extended warrantee coverage, then the age went down from 75 to 69). What annoys me is the differential excess for apple phones – which currently retail in price from £299 for a 6s to £1500 for an XR. Fair enough to take £125 off for losing a £1500 phone but disproportionate (i.e. more than 1/3 of the cost) for the 6s.
