We pulled out of the sale, feel awful but at least it wont have cost them anything in fees yet, went round today to measure up and its a lot smaller than we remembered, and it was an absolute nightmare to pull off the drive, would be even worse if shared access was partially blocked.
Well done on making the right decision. Don't worry about anyone else, this is the biggest purchase of your life. Hopefully the experience has taught you better what you are looking for.
A checklist might help for future viewings. And you'll put yourself in a better bargaining position if you pause for a few days before making an offer.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
jamie_128, do not "feel awful". Instead, do as advised above and by just about everyone else on here: Look after number one and learn from this experience.
This forum ain't goin' nowhere. You can do this. There is an element of faith required when purchasing a home (as opposed to property for your portfolio) especially your first. Just, please, think before you offer; we all had to learn that lesson. There is nothing wrong with saying you are interested.0 -
Thanks guys, to top it off the estate agent rang and asked if we are still interested in another property we were actually in love with before this one. We said yes but not raising offer to asking price (Seller was stubborn), made an offer and got it accepted at 4k under the asking price. So now we are over the moon, this one doesent have any comprimises with shared access or anything.0

Congrats and well done!0 -
Thanks chaps, my partner was overwhelmed with the first one and wouldent listen to the pitfalls which is why i was trying to justify it, but she has come round and totally agrees with me now and we both love this other one. Especially for 22 grand cheaper aswell, its not much smaller at all and in a nicer bit, but doesent look as fancy.0

Please let us know how you get on, jamie_128. Too often we never hear the outcome of threads we respond to. Best of luck to you both.0

Thanks chaps.
Only annoying thing is now im still waiting for my buyer to bring in their mortgage in principle and solicitors they have chosen. Been waiting since they made an offer wednesday last week, supposed to be bringing it early this week but dont seem to be in any sort of rush despite my estate agents ringing her to try get it sorted.
Am i expecting things to be done too quick? Just for me i had it sorted within a day.0
