Sitting tight, is fine but might mean that the OP cannot subscribe the full £20k into an ISA this tax year, had they wished to.
I had some qualms about Masonic's original Option 1, including that the OP might have been required to sign a declaration that they knew not to be true. But Masonic suggested some better alternatives in reply #10.
