Thanks, the mazda 6, peugeot508sw, skoda superb are all good contenders. Petrol engines are quite rare for the age range I'm looking at so the choices are really slim.0

The other criteria I forgot to mention is something that easy (cheap) to service and maintain. So that's out of the equation. Although my wife would love it for the ride comfort at the back.0 -

I parked behind a V90 yesterday, it was so low! Long & wide but low. I gave up my V70 a few years ago because I couldn't get in & out easily but this new V90 goes to another (lower) level.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
The current V90 is 6mm lower than the original facelifted-850 V70... Well, the XC "tall soft-roader" version of the V70. It's 20mm higher than the main V70.
It just looks lower, because it's a chunk wider - 150mm+.0 -
Estates are not big enough? I have the Mondeo and its longer than most parking spaces.
I think the Insignia is even longer, Passat and its clones are a similar size to both and countless other estates...

After getting bullied on here I bought a Superb.

Biggest estate car on the market at the moment, enough toys to keep me happy and since it was a Cat S under 3yo it was as cheap as chips.
Have you checked out the reviews of all the estate cars? Always the first place to start.0 -
The Skoda Superb can easily handle a couple, plus the associated rolls of carpet and shovels. You can also kip in the back if you need to lay low. #Recommendseatbeltnoob wrote: »couple of bodies."For every complicated problem, there is always a simple, wrong answer"0
