Which car for 3 car seats in second row

Hi,
We have the Citroen Grand Spacetourer and absolutely love it. We currently have 2 off rear facing seats in the centre and left hand seats (1 is and AxKid, so fairly large too). Plenty of space for an another adult in the right hand seat. as other posters have said, with the 3 seats being able to slide back and forth independently, certainly makes a difference space wise.
I am not sure what you mean by "I’m wary of the Citroen because residuals seem to get a bad rep"?
We paid 15K for it. 8 months old ex rental, which judging by the overall condition was barely used.0 -
Another vote here for a Renault Scenic. We purchased a pre-reg 4 years ago and it has suited our needs but buy with care if you are looking at used. We have been glad of the four year warranty we had (they have dropped it to 3 now) and unfortunately it has been used a number of times. We are looking for a replacement now and have considered the very new shape Scenic which appears to be a lot better then our MK3 but the prices for a decent one are way more than we paid for the last one. We are looking at the Kadjar as a replacement as not fussed about the back seats but after a horrendous experience with a Qashqai I’m not sure I could trust it if they are as aligned as people make out. Also engine wise the older 1.2 had numerous issues and the newer 1.3 is not proven yet.0

Thanks all. Really useful insights. I hadn’t considered some of the bigger saloons. My father in law has a fully kitted out Mondeo. Might see if I can fit our seats in that as he’s looking to get something else soon (though it’s starting to have some problems so depends how they go).
Feels like the Citroen grand c4 spacetourer is winning it for me at the minute. Can get a decent one year old car for around the 18k mark.
I’ve discounted the scenic as the reliability concerns me too much.0 -

15k for an 8 month old car that’s barely used isn’t a good residual value. Id like to think it eases off quite quickly. Makes it a great value car for what it is but not if you’re buying it new.0 -
When I bought the VW Galaxy the motoring press were raving about the Citroen C8. The user reviews for the C8 were horrendous. They were in the garage all the time. I don't know if Citroen have improved their reliability.0

Yeah I was reading reviews last night and spacetourer comes bottom in mpv reliability. Citroen as a brand rank poorly in the jdpower survey as well which is really putting me off.0 -

You paid £15k for an 8 month old car that cost what? £24k originally? And now its worth about £11k?
Thats what they mean by their residuals.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Surely residuals only then matter if you intend to sell the car on. Also who would buy a new car anyway when the residuals are so bad?0 -
We fitted 3 in a berlingo, but thats only when they were in car seats that had an integral harness. Once they moved onto booster seats and needed access to the seatbelt buckle, it became more difficult, as you couldnt get your hand between the seats0

Small update. Still looking.
Tried out a Kia Carens and a Toyota Verso in the hope that I could get a car with a decent warranty. But the drive on them wasn’t nice. Really loud on both at 70mph. We do a trip once a month or so that’s basically all motorway so it’d become annoying.
Also checked out the spacetourer but the more I research it the more it puts me off it (reliability wise).
I’m thinking of looking at the Seat Alhambra next. Any thoughts on that?0
