Fake extractor hood?

FTB here. We had put in an offer on a property and we are well on our way, with mortgage offer approved, homebuyers report done and searches taking place right now.
We went to check out the property once more to take measurements etc and noticed that the Kitchen extractor hood wasn't working. I enquired with the EA who spoke with the vendor. They informed me that the extractor hood is a dummy and not actually connected.
The property was advertised as four ring gas hob with extractor fan over.
Isn't it the EA's responsibility that the details in the property listing is accurate?
The vendor and the EA has been going back on various things. During the sale, the vendor had agreed to do various works on the property but just told us he wouldn't as he accepted a lower offer than the asking price ( never mentioned anything when accepting out offer). The property was also advertised as no chain but the vendor later told us he is purchasing onwards. All these makes us a bit frustrated.

Is there a question beyond
To which the answer is that they can only put information they get from the vendor and is obvious to them. Dummy extractor hood isn't something obvious, by your own account you didn't notice it initially either.Isn't it the EA's responsibility that the details in the property listing is accurate?

Is it a recirculation hood rather then an extractor hood?0

Do you mean it literally does nothing because it's broken, or just that it isn't connected to the outside i.e. it filters and recirculates the air (which is pretty commonplace)?They informed me that the extractor hood is a dummy and not actually connected.
It's not the EA's job to go around testing all the appliances - you either ask the vendor to fix them or take account of any defects in the price.0 -
Theres a difference between a dummy and not connected to an external opening (i presume you were expecting)
Some extractors are meant to vent externally, some arent. Which type is it?
Or is it made of cardboard with a photo of a light and a fan stuck on it ? Only the latter would be a dummy.
Could it be vented externally or does the layout preclude that?0 -
Thanks. My issue is that even In the property information sheet, the vendor marked 'fitted' against the extractor hood. Then isn't either the EA or the vendor responsible for the accuracy of the information?0

The EA said that it is not connected to any electrical power nor a duct to take the air out. The EA used the word 'dummy' and said "it doesn't do anything. It's just there"0

Connecting the one which is already there to a power supply, or even replacing it with a different one, would both be relatively trivial costs in the grand scheme of things. Presumably this isn't something which makes or breaks your decision to buy the property?0

And strictly speaking saying fitted is accurate unless you specifically asked if it was working.
That's one of the joys of buying and the reason we have a two ring rather than five ring range cooker.0 -

Of course. We have just emailed asking if there is at least a power supply and if it is just the hood that is broken0 -
