Bed frame broken within a year- do i have any rights?

I bought a bed frame and mattress from Wayfair last November.
The bed frame has broken, the metal supports have snapped away as have the legs- you can now see how poor quality they are! It is a small double that i bought for my son who is well beyond the stage of jumping on the bed!
I have emailed the company to complain and been fobbed off with 'i should have reported it within the 30 days of purchase' (conveniently for the company it was fine then)
I feel that as it a piece of high use furniture it should last longer then 9 months and wondered what response I should go back to the company with? what are the rules/ rights for things like this?
Should i carry on fighting or accept that i am not going to get anywhere and write it off to experience?
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

After 6 months the retailer can legally ask you to provide a report showing the item was inherently faulty at time of purchase. This can include such things as poor workmanship, weaknesses in the wood etc, which means the item was always 'bound to fail'
If you can get a report which states these inherent faults, they can choose to repair your bed, replace it, or refund you. The refund can be lower than full purchase price to take into account use.
How much was the bed?1 -
Hi KatrinaWaves
The frame was £90 and when it arrived i realised that it wasn't going to last forever but had thought at least a couple of years!!
Think I will just put it down to experience, write a bad review for the frame and start searching for a new frame!!0 -

I'd probably expect most beds to last longer than 9 months but it is a lower price for a bed, £10 a month I guess isnt terrible? You may be right that its not worth pursuing.0 -
At £90 it was never going to be great. I agree that it isn't worth pursuing and I think an honest review is a good idea.0
