    ...............

taking all this consideration , ovo are now telling me my account is £177 in credit , but i have been paying monthly payments of

    october 2017 - may 2018 - £107

    june 2018 - august 2018 - £161

    sept 2018 - march 2019 - £127

    april 2019 - september 2019 - £147

    .................
i admit i did not give readings every month, which is a mistake on my behalf

    '

i would be grateful for any help with this issue
    thanks

From your other post 1862 m3 would cost about £700 a year.

From your figures above you have paid £542 - hence your credit.

But this all depends on the accuracy of your non existent readings - and OVO will be guessing

Lots of info in bits and drabs in different threads - what the OP doesn't seem to realise that gas meters are different to electric in that they do not read in kwh and you have to convert (and that conversion varies abit from month to month)

Is the rise from 1862 to 2299 due to the fact that OVO now has an actual reading ?

Is the 27802 merely OVO best guess as to what your consumption will be ? perhaps assuming that since it rose from 1862 in 16/17 to 2299 in 18/19 it will continue to grow.

Thankyou rabialiones - what you have given us is predictions solely in terms of money.

What would be really useful is a copy of a 12 month old bill with meter readings on it that have the letter A for ACTUAL, ignore anything with the letter E AND read your meters NOW please

They're just glorified ESTIMATES and should be ignored.

Forget DD amounts, you should always use actual meter readings and annual usage in kWh. The only exceptions are if you know there will be some dramatic change, e.g. moving house, changes in the number of people or daytime occupancy etc. Always deal with hard FACTS, not vapourware.

Taking the two August readings - yes 2299 m3 = approx 25750 kwh

    at 2.7p is £695 plus standing charge £100 = £795 plus VAT = £835

Put 25750 into a comparison site and see what offers you get.

OVO's guess of £1146 is rubbish

PS 25750 kwh is high as is your Aug to Sept consumption of 50m3 = 616 kwh
