I left it a little late and didn’t apply until the end of September, I’ve had no email saying I have qualified, when will I get a decision.

I applied on 14 August and got confirmation last week. So, could be around 10 weeks.

Any idea of the time span, Malc? Getting this sooner than later would save me a lot of worry about paying at the moment.
The 19/20 is still open and if they still have places, why should it be closed?

Morning PennineAcute and we've already started making Warm Home Discount payments for the 2019/20 scheme.

Most Matched Core Group customers will receive their payment by the end of 2019. These customers will receive a letter from the Department of Work and Pensions confirming qualification and with an 'M' reference for Matched. If their letter has a 'U' reference, they need to follow the instructions in the letter.

For customers in the Broader Group, payments are usually made within 3 months of the date on the letter confirming their application has been approved. This will continue until 31 March 2020 when all eligible customers will have received their payment. As MoneyMate mentions, this is provided their circumstances haven't changed.

We write to customers at each stage of the application process to keep them up to speed with what's happening.

You're spot on about our Broader Group scheme (2019/20) still being open. We're continuing to accept applications and the best way to apply is through our website.

Hope this explains PennineAcute. Please let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.

My copy of the Acceptance email 24 Oct 2019

You're through to the final stages of the application process.
The £140 payment will be automatically credited to your electricity account between September 2019 and the end of March 2020, as long as:
    - You don't move house
If you move before the payment is made you'll need to re-apply for the Warm Home Discount payment using your new address and account number.
    - You don't change electricity supplier
If you change supplier before the payment is made you'll need to contact your new supplier and see if you can apply with them instead, as their criteria may be different. We must be your electricity supplier when we make the payment.
Paid into my account today 29/10/19.

Morning MoneyMate and glad you've received your Warm Home Discount payment.

E.ON does tend to be confused over the dates of the Warm Home Discount Scheme. The 2019/20 scheme applications should be closed and in fact some people will already have received it as it's due to be paid between October 2019 and January 2020. What will be applied for soon is the 2020/21 scheme or for shorthand the 2020 scheme. I do wish E.ON would get this right.

Morning Anthorn and I'm not sure what you mean.

Are you thinking about the Core Group part of Warm Home Discount? The scheme is in two parts - the Core and Broader Groups.

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) identifies Core Group customers and write to them to advise they're due the Warm Home Discount payment. These customers don't need to apply. The DWP also let us know so we can credit the customer's account.

We'll pay customers who qualify for the Core Group payment for 2019/20 if we supplied their electricity on the qualifying date of 7 July 2019. As above, these payments are currently being made and will be done by the end of this year.

Broader Group customers need to apply each year and we're still accepting applications for the 2019/20 scheme. The best way to apply is by using the form on our website. Again, we've started making these payments and all eligible customers will receive this by 31 March 2020.

With both the Core and Broader Groups, the payments currently being made against valid applications are for the 2019/20 scheme.

The current scheme (Year 9) runs from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. Details for Year 10 (2020/21) won't be known until next year. These time frames match those used by the DWP and Ofgem.

Hope this explains Anthorn. Please let me know if I've misunderstood your post or you need any further information as happy to help.

Hello Jacesmummy and I'd talk to us about this.

We send letters within 3 weeks of receiving an application for Warm Home Discount to let customers know we have it and what will happen next. As you applied in September, you should've heard something by now.

Don't worry if we haven't received it. Our 2019/20 Broader Group scheme is still open and you can apply again if necessary.

The Live Chat service on our website is a good way to go if you prefer not to phone. Advisors are online from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm Saturdays.

    Thanks Jacesmummy.

Will the core group receive emails confirming eligibility for the WHD?

Hello metrobus and, yes, customers qualifying for Warm Home Discount under the Core Group will be contacted. This is usually by letter.

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) will write to customers they identify as being part of the Core Group to let them know. They'll also let us know so we can credit their accounts provided we supplied the electricity on the qualifying date of 7 July 2019.

Hope this explains metrobus. Please let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

Hello michaels and thank you for your interest in joining us.

This will depend on when you send in the Warm Home Discount application. We're taking these now.

New customers can apply through our website as soon as we've issued their account number. This is usually within the first few days of starting a switch.

We've a set quota for Broader Group payments and, once this has been reached, we'll close the scheme to new applicants. We closed our 2018/19 scheme this March but in previous years it closed earlier in November and December. It depends on how quick the scheme fills up.

I don't have a closing date for 2019/20 yet. If you do switch to us, I'd strongly recommend applying as soon as we send your welcome email with the account number. The quickest way is through our website.

Hope this helps michaels. Please let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

    When is the payment credited?

You're welcome michaels. Happy to help.

We've already started making payments for the 2019/20 scheme.

For Broader Group customers, payments are usually made within 3 months of the date on the letter confirming their application has been approved. Sometimes it's earlier depending on workloads in the area dealing with this. We're looking to make all payments to eligible customers by 31 March 2020.

    Hope this helps michaels.
