As a buyer, it’s important to take a view and just instruct your solicitor to proceed anyway as over the years they have just become more and more cautious.

I’m sure these indemnity policies will be the new PPI since the “let sleeping dogs lie” nature of them gives the insurers the perfect get out as soon as you speak to the planners/building control about anything connected with your house in the future.

I think we are going to speak with the buyer on Friday if we do not get anywhere again this week.

I don't know what indemnity policy is, solicitor said this isn't a route we can take.

    Thank you :)

I do have a soft spot for new builds but this isn't how our search for a new house started, in fact we never look at one for almost 8 months but we just couldn't find size of house for right price in areas we wanted. Living 4-5hrs drive away has made the search much harder too.

15th Aug : No emails from buyers solicitor today. Chased it up with EA, awaiting a call back.

16t Aug: Buyers solicitors are now happy (yey)

Buyer needs to put forward proof of funding. How long can this part take? Will signing contracts then follow?

    Thank you
