I bought a car 6weeks ago with a 12mo warranty. It developed a problem i understand will be recurring and a £4-500 repair each time. The warranty will cover it, but once that runs out I dont fancy living with these bills!? Do I have a case for simply returnong it now?

I'm thinking DPF...0 -
Injector - it can be fixed but is apparently a known fault on these engines and will keep recurring. I'm no expert so never thought to look into the injector lifespan of this engine!0

It's a 1.6 diesel, Tfi maybe? Difficult to say how often but safe to say more than usual! Even if it happens annually it will place a financial strain, my previous model i drove 225k miles without the injector going once!!!
Does anyone know if i have a case to get (most of) my money back though???0 -

I'd very much doubt it. If you're unhappy with the maintenance regime the time to check it out would have been before you bought the car, not after. You cant really take a car back because of something that might or might not happen at some point down the line.
I would have thought using quality fuel and injector cleaners periodically in the fuel would preserve the lifespan of them.
What specific car is it?
Is it documented they need injectors say, every two years, or is this just your mechanic saying "these cars need injectors regularly"?
Another option would be to extend the warranty?0 -

If you bought it from a dealer then return it for them to fix it - dont claim off the warranty.
I cannot think of any engine that needs their injectors replacing on a regular basis.0
