Unless you are a apple fan boy (or girl) nobody really cares.

More a case if you already have an iPhone it's an option, especially if you are happy in the Apple ecosystem intend to stay there. Doesn't necessarily make you a fanboy. For everyone else it's irrelevant.

If they match the cashback I get with my Amex, I will apply for one, if they ever launch in the UK. Anything less, not bothered about a shiny metal card.

I wouldn't be applying for one personally but *if* they launch in the U.K. (apparently they've registered the trademark) it will be interesting to see what 'perks' they offer with the cap on Interchange fees.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

How sad? He has 4.5M views on that video. Thats about $18,000 in Ad revenue alone. Is that really sad?

Yes. Just because there are 4.5 million other sad individuals who like to watch him and (indirectly) pay him doesn't lessen the abject inanity.
  • " Is that really sad?"
Yes, as sad as the individuals who watched it and will be suckered in by that Apple logo. Not just on a credit card either. I'm sure the sheep will love it though.

Why is it "sad" to have a peek at a credit card which looks differently to 99% of cards out there? By "differently" i mean no numbers, CV etc are displayed onthe Apple card.

Here we go. Bring on the Apple haters. How are Apple customers being suckered? It's not costing anything to have one of these cards. If you don't have an iPhone, it is irrelevant to you anyway. I have an iPhone (at present) so does that automatically make me a 'sheep' because I am interested in what the card will have to offer (if anything) if it ever gets released in the UK?

And how many people complain because their credit card is contactless? This one isn't, which is a good feature in itself.

However, if I apply for one, it will be based on what perks it offers.

If it doesn't offer any perks or cashback less than 0.5% then I won't be interested at all.

Here is a better rundown of the card. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rosemd9Bz8o
Credit Shifu says it's not that good. even though if it was in the UK it would blow the competition out of the water, but in the US it's not that good.

Interesting... I wonder if those of us who use cashback or rewards credit cards will see much better offers come into force in order to prevent us jumping ship to the Apple card...

  • No because of the interchange cap.

It’ll be a loss maker for the lender.

Who is to blame for this? Why do we have this cap?
Infuriates me the rest of the world gets much better deals than us. Doesnt this cap just benefit retailers?

    1. The EU: The IFR
    2. I assume the intent was to restrict increases in retailers' costs in accepting cards which may result in consumers not paying as much as they might if the cap was not in place. Don't forget, the cost of all those cashback and other rewards is ultimately passed onto us.
