This video popped up on my YouTube feed.
It's an unboxing and review of Apple's new credit card that's been launched in the US.
I like the clean look.
The linked app has a nice visual feature, whereby colours are added to an initially white image of the card to represent purchases (see 3 minutes, 22 seconds in).
Love how the guy in the video says "To be honest, as a credit card, it's not that amazing" because it only offers 1% or 2% cashback on non-Apple store purchases (see 4 minutes, 55 seconds in). Cashback incentives in the US are generally more generous than they are here.

They started rolling out to a limited few last Tuesday, but I think everyone (US) can apply for it. Seems like they are setting the bar fairly low and even a few that are considered sub-prime are being approved. I guess they are worried that if they turn someone down for the card they may leave and join Android, whereas if they are allowed onboard, they're pulled even more into Apple's ecosystem. (as stated by the presenter on the youtube video I looked at after I wrote this comment:o)
I quite like the look of the card myself. I like the fact it is not contactless which makes the card safer, and of course, contactless on the phone is protected with fingerprint/faceID.
Apple are looking at diversifying to keep their profits up. iPhones accounted for less than half of their sales last year for the first time ever.0 -
If/when Apple decide to release Apple Card over here in the U.K it'll be interesting to see what kind of rates they offer given the cap on Interchange Fees.
I imagine it's similar in feel to my N26 Metal Debit MasterCard. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

Credit Shifu says it's not that good. even though if it was in the UK it would blow the competition out of the water, but in the US it's not that good. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Unless you are a apple fan boy (or girl) nobody really cares.0
