CCBC with slightly different circumstances

I have just received a stack of mail from an address that I moved out from over 6 months ago, and found no less than 2 (TWO!) CCBE claim forms amongst them (from Gladstone Solicitors), each dated three days ago. Each claim runs up several hundred pounds, and are from two separate store car parks.
I work freelance, including many of the same companies stores. Parking is free as a worker, and I sign-in and record my car registration in the stores that I work (also set up with the parking camera systems where these exist). However, at these two stores, this hasn't stopped the tickets for overstaying. I have tried to chase these up with the stores and was told that they would be taken care of... However this has clearly not happened (the fines are dated to 2017!)
Just wondering how I should tackle this, as its a different situation from most of the other posts, given that I am supposed to have been working and allowed to park. As mentioned, these are two specific stores out of many, where I have had no such problems.
I have had a look at the previous posts, but just a a little confused about what the first steps should be:
Should I speak to the store managers or the land owners to explain the situation?
Do I file the AoS along the same lines as other example?

What are the Issue Dates on your Claim Forms?
Did they come from the County Court Business Centre in Northampton, or from somewhere else?0 -
Hi KeithP, the issue date on both claims is 06/08/2019, and yes, they were receive from the County Court Business Centre in Northampton.0

Everyone is asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread
Go there now to get an understanding of the game you are now caught up in
Then concentrate on post #2
That covers court claims right through from receipt of the claim to the hearing together with walkthroughs on what to do and how and when to do it
Your first jobs are to send the AOS for each claim
All covered in that post together with a link to a walkthrough for them
Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving
You need to edit your OP to remove details of who was driving0 -
With a Claim Issue Date of 6th August, you have until Tuesday 27th August to do the Acknowledgement of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. To do the AoS, follow the guidance offered in a Dropbox file linked from post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread. About ten minutes work - no thinking required.Hi KeithP, the issue date on both claims is 06/08/2019, and yes, they were receive from the County Court Business Centre in Northampton.
Having done the AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 9th September 2019 to file your Defence.
That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as suggested here:-
Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defence received". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to keep you under pressure.
- Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to find out exactly what to do with it.
In post #2 of the NEWBIES thread is full guidance on how to create a winning Defence and links to many examples of winning Defences.0 - Sign it and date it.

You have been lucky to have found these in time - could there be any others ?
Even though it’s late in the day try a polite email to Sainsburys CEO Mike Coupe explaining the difficulties you are facing due to some store system breakdown.
Include the financial difficulties you will be having through no fault of your own just for working in his stores.
mike.coupe@sainsburys.co.uk
Don’t mess about with store managers, you need this sorting quickly.0 -
which parking company ? (claimant)
email a SAR to the DPO of the parking company and get all the docs and pics and data about you and your vehicle , asap
email Mike Coupe ASP with your complaints (should have been done a long time ago) - ditto with any landowners too
try and get written statements from managers etc stating that you were entitled to work there and to park
do the AOS for both online using the government gateway and the mcol references, asap
I fail to see what grounds you have for any counter claims, please elaborate on the legal grounds for bringing any counter claims, plus how much you wish to counterclaim, plus research how much each counter claim will cost you to file with the defence or defences0 -
Redx this will be Horizon.
They have issued a huge number of claims in the last 2 weeks. Hundreds of them.
Pcns for 80 and then adding *contractual costs* on top of £70. A lot of these wont stand up when being defended by the keeper.0 -
Hi all, thank you for the quick feedback. I will file the AoS for both claims and continue to read through the previous posts.
I will also get on the email to Mike Coupe, having just been on the phone with one of the stores and encountered a not-so-helpful member of staff (the manager was supposedly not in, and I was told to call back and speak to someone else tomorrow).
The claimant is Horizon Parking Ltd for both claims.0 -

Sorry, I meant AoS and not a counter claim... I have tried to amend the OP as recommended above also.
With regards written statements, I will have invoices/time-sheets for the given days, so would that still be necessary? Particularly as I don't have direct contact with the store managers for the hours I work (processed through an online portal), and the managers may have changed since then.0 -
OP needs more editing0
