Rejected for a credit card

Because I already have another credit card for general use. (its paid off in full every month)
The percentage of my income going out for essential payments its just over 30% as an estimate
Do you have a feeling for whether that percentage is higher or lower than before buying the house?
You have 70% of your income available (after taking account of your mortgage and essential bills) and are a consistent full-payer on another card, so, unless those full payments equate to 70% of your income, it no longer seems likely to be linked to affordability - what do others think?
If you really want that card, give Barclaycard a call and see if they change their mind - several other posters on this forum have had the same experience as you, 'appealed' the rejection and then been accepted.0 -

Remember that although you can register online, the exception to this being if you register to vote during the Annual Canvass period. which takes place between July and December each year, during which time no electoral roll information is published, with the new version of the roll published by most local authorities on 1st December. As it usually takes Credit Reference Agencies about a month to publish this information, it may not be reflected on your on credit file until as late as February the following year.
Typically once Electoral Register information has been published, it can take up to three months for your listing to appear on your credit files, though in many cases this happens within one month.
You should check your files with all 3 credit reference agencies to see whether you are actually showing as being registered on them.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Yep, this happened to me too.
It's a variable APR, so it was the exact same card, but with a higher interest rate.0
