But will be a more comfortable ride, assuming OP can get some 16 inch wheels to fit, OP can’t see the wheels when in drivers seat0 -

True, it's a personal preference whether looks matter. I guess there could be a very modest improvement in economy too due to reduced rolling resistance, though maybe also a reduction in grip through corners.0 -
Hi, just to reassure all that the car was originally available with the 16" wheels and tyres quoted above. Different trim specs incurred the larger wheels - for mainly vanity reasons.

I'm going for comfy ride, just hoping brakes don't foul. Would they fit bigger discs on 18 wheels? If I ruled the world.......0

It depends on the spec of the car really, not just the original wheels.
For example my Saab 9-5 is the Aero spec and has bigger brakes than the standard models (314mm rather than 285mm or something like that).
Where the standard models can run a 16 inch rim mine can't as the calipers won't fit under the wheel.
This may be one occasion where consulting a main dealer would make sense.0 -
Not sure how many times it needs to be said. Check the car's tyre sticker/plate on the inside of the driver door. It'll tell you exactly the correct wheel/tyre sizes that are suitable for your specific model. If there is a 16" option and provided you have the original brakes then it will fit.ChrisK..... wrote: »I'm going for comfy ride, just hoping brakes don't foul. And if he still has not looked at the sticker, the 1.6l petrol and the 2.0l hybrid are specified with the same brake disc, same diameter and same thickness.

But better grip in snow / mud and less chance of aquaplaning in the wet.
You pays yer money and takes yer chance!0
