Yes, you need some good high capacity rechargeable Ni-MH batteries at least 2500mah, and dont be tempted to get the quick 1 hour chargers etc as I have found they are never very good. Try and get a 'trickle' type charger to charge them up overnight for the best results.
Jessops do some good ones if you want to go on the high street, or else there is obviously lots of places on the t'internet
Ive got this one and it's brilliant (imo of course).... http://www.jessops.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?SkuId=35579 but obviously you may well be able to get it cheaper elsewhere0 -
you must have rechargables on a digital camera. the ordinary types last minutes.
ive had 2 cheapo cameras in the past, and they both ate batteries for fun.
asda and tesco, argos, maplin etc do a set of rechargables with the charger for less than a tenner.Get some gorm.0 -
I wonder if a ½ mile mains extension lead is available from currys? There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0

Thank you everyone, i'll buy some rechargables and see if that helps.
By the way can anyone tell me what type of memory stick I would need for this camera to be able to take more photos? At the mo I can only take 10 and would want to take more especially when I go to Oz
I don't have my instruction book so if anyone knows where I can get one online that would be great also.0 -

Considering the prices you may as well go for the maximum 2Gb as it's not much more than 1Gb or 512Mb.0

Seems quite an expensive place though, I'd try one of these:

Even with rechargables it will still "eat" batteries, Olympus are the same 2 AAs is just not enough, especially if the lens goes in and out when you switch on even fully chargedNi-Mh dont last long, and they need to be freshly charged, not charged and left in a drawer.
When the camera says batteries are flat, they will still work, in say a vibrator, quiet well, its just the can only use say the top 10% of power, after that they just give up.0
