Non arrival of ParkingEye original notice due to incorrect postcode...

Good Afternoon
I wonder if I could get some advice or opinions please.

Yesterday I received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd, allegedly on behalf of ParkingEye, referring to a parking charge notice from 24th April this year.

I have never received the original notice or indeed any follow up notices until this arrived yesterday.
Although my main address is correct, the post code is wrong, possibly leading to the non arrival of any previous letters.
I have made no contact with either DRP or ParkingEye as yet as I wondered if the incorrect address and therefore non arrival of the original notice invalidates everything ?

Anu opinions would be welcomed as I'm unsure of how to approach this, especially the fact that DRP are asking for a payment of £170 !!!

Many Thanks

Check your V5C and ensure all the details are correct, especially the post code

Email a SAR to the DPO at PE and obtain all the documents and pictures and data about you and your vehicle attaching a copy of the V5C as proof of ID under the GDPR

    Ignore drpl
  • I've just checked my V5C and the post code is actually incorrect on there.

    I imagine that's bad news !!

PE signage is the pits, read this

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

so ,,,,,,,,,,, how did you receive your v5 from the dvla
  • It is only one digit out. It should be a U but is printed as a J
The V5 arrived OK and the letter from DRP has arrived OK both with the incorrect postcode, but the original charge letter has never arrived.

Unsure as to next action to take ?

Already told you what action to take

Plus inform the DVLA of the incorrect details (which you should have checked when it arrived) to get a new V5C sent out with a corrected postcode

Plus email the DPO at PE with a data rectification notice regarding the postcode error as well as everything else
